His example: a consultant once told him, while he was mapping out his career, to stop trying to do everything and focus on one thing and do it to the best of his ability. In a vacuum, that's not bad advice at all — but it wasn't applicable to who he is or how he's built, so he had to do something else. The takeaway is discernment: not all good advice is your advice. Filter it through your own context before you follow it.
